Managing your finances just got easier. We are excited to offer all users the ability to export transaction history directly into a CSV file.
This feature allows you to review your spending in your preferred spreadsheet software, making it the perfect tool for analysing monthly cash flow or preparing for tax season. Your export includes all relevant account details alongside your personalised categorisations, notes, and tags—providing a comprehensive overview of your financial life.
Whether you are performing a solo deep dive into your habits or sharing data with a trusted advisor like an accountant or mortgage broker, your data is now more accessible than ever.
1. What specific data points are included in the export?
Your CSV file will include the following information for every transaction:
- Transaction Description & Merchant Name
- Amount & Transaction Type (Income, Expense, or Transfer)
- Posted Date
- Account Name
- Category
- Personalised Notes & Tags
2. How do I receive my CSV file?
For security reasons, your transaction data is packaged into a CSV file and sent directly to your verified primary email address. Please ensure your email is confirmed in the app.
3. How far back can I export my financial history?
Currently, you can export up to the last 12 months of data. This aligns with our standard data retention policy, though we are exploring ways to extend this duration in future updates.
4. Why do some transactions have an empty "Posted Date"?
An empty posted date usually indicates that a transaction is still "Pending." Once your bank finalises the transaction, our system will update the status and reflect the correct date in your next export.
5. Is there a limit to how many times I can download my data?
There are no limits. You can export your data as often as you like. We recommend a monthly export as a best practice to keep your personal records up to date.
6. Can I share this file with my mortgage broker or accountant?
Yes. However, because your financial data is sensitive, we strongly recommend password-protecting the file before sending it to any third party. Your security is our priority, so always exercise caution when sharing files externally.
7. What should I do if I see an error message during the export?
If an error occurs, please try the following:
- Ensure you are running the latest version of the app.
- Verify that you have at least one active account linked with transaction history. If the issue persists, contact our support team for a manual review.
8. Why can't I find the "Export my data" option in Settings?
If the option is missing, first check that your app is updated and that you have successfully linked your accounts. Occasionally, this feature may be temporarily disabled for maintenance; if so, we will notify users via the app or email.
